HOW DID SINGAPORE STARTED?
The Keep Singapore Clean campaign was one of Singapore’s first national campaigns as an independent nation. Launched on 1 October 1968 by then Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, the month-long campaign aimed to make Singapore the cleanest and greenest city in the region by addressing the problem of inconsiderate littering.
Although today Singapore is one of the cleanest countries in the world, in the early 1960s it was one of the world’s filthiest cities. It was the President Lee who drove Singapore to cleanliness, through very strict laws and fines at that time.
Starting with the parents and the Children will emulate!!
NEXT PROJECT WILL BE: “URINE AT THE RIGHT PLACE AND NOT EVERYWHERE” use proper toilets!!
